Meet the Johnsons — Erica | Mom of 3 | Detroit, MI

Back in 2019, Erica wasn’t looking for a new soap — just something gentle enough for her son’s sensitive skin. It was a warm Saturday at Eastern Market when she stumbled upon a small booth run by a guy named Jack.

“He had this genuine energy about him,” Erica recalls. “Not pushy — just passionate. You could tell he really believed in what he was building.”

That booth? It was the early days of Motor City Organics. And the product that caught her eye? A simple bar labeled Goat Milk Oasis.

“He explained how it had no synthetic fragrance, just real oils. No detergents. Just good, honest soap.”

She bought a couple bars that day — mostly out of curiosity, and a little because Jack reminded her of someone who actually cared about what people were putting on their skin.

Now, five years later, Goat Milk Oasis is still a staple in their household.

“It’s the only soap I’ve used on my kids since then. It doesn’t dry out their skin. It smells clean without being overpowering. And it feels good supporting something that started right here in Detroit.”

Erica says she’s tried other brands over the years — some from stores, others gifted by friends — but nothing feels quite as trustworthy.

“You can’t fake a product that’s made with purpose. We’ve been with MCO since the beginning, and we’re not switching now.”
